Sheet A-04
What a visit costs, and what it buys
One flat diagnostic fee, quoted before we arrive, credited in full if you approve the repair. Everything after it is written down before it is billed.
Diagnostic fee
$129 flat
Flat diagnostic fee, credited in full toward the repair if you approve the work.
The sequence
- 01
You describe the symptom
On the phone, in plain words. Sometimes that is enough for us to say it is not worth a visit, and we will say so.
- 02
We diagnose, flat fee
$129. One number, known before we arrive, regardless of how long the diagnosis takes.
- 03
You get the estimate in writing
Parts, labor and the time frame. Nothing is ordered and nothing further is billed until you approve it.
- 04
The fee comes off the bill
If you approve the work, the $129 is credited in full against it. If you do not, you have paid for a diagnosis and you keep it.
What the fee covers
Included
- Travel to the property inside the service radius.
- A full inspection of the cabinet: condenser deck, airflow, door seal, controls and the water side where one is fitted.
- Measured readings rather than impressions — temperature at the point that matters, actual voltage under load, fill volume and cycle time on an ice maker.
- A written statement of what is wrong, what it takes to fix it, and what it will cost.
Not included
- Parts. They are quoted separately once the fault is known.
- Labor beyond the diagnostic itself. That is in the written estimate you approve first.
- Any brand other than Sub-Zero. We do not take those calls at all.
- Installation of an appliance bought elsewhere, unless it is a retrofit into an existing opening we have measured.
Why there is no price list for repairs
Because the part decides the number, and we will not know the part until we have measured the appliance. A published price for "ice maker repair" is either padded to cover the worst case or it is a hook, and both of those end with a conversation you did not want to have in your kitchen.
What we can promise instead is the shape of the number and when you get it: written estimate before any part is ordered or any labor is billed. Once you have it, the decision is yours and there is no pressure attached to it — including when the honest answer is that the cabinet is not worth the repair.
Completed work carries 90 days on labor and 365 days on parts. The detail is on the warranty sheet, and the common questions are answered on the questions sheet.
