Independent — not a factory service center

Sheet A-10

Terms

The rules of engagement for a service call, and for reading this site. Written to be read once, in plain language, rather than skipped.

Non-affiliation

Riverbend Refrigeration is an independent appliance repair company. We are not affiliated with, authorized by, or endorsed by Sub-Zero or its parent company. All brand names and model numbers are the property of their respective owners and are used only to identify the appliances we service.

Who you are dealing with

Riverbend Refrigeration is an independent appliance repair business operating in Jacksonville, Florida. We service Sub-Zero refrigeration and nothing else. We hold no manufacturer service appointment, we are not a factory service center, and nothing on this site should be read as saying otherwise.

Booking and the diagnostic fee

Booking a visit is an agreement to the $129 flat diagnostic fee. Flat diagnostic fee, credited in full toward the repair if you approve the work. It is charged once per appliance per visit and it is payable whether or not you go on to authorise the repair.

Additional appliances looked at on the same visit are agreed before we start, not added to the invoice afterwards.

Estimates and authorisation

Written estimate before any part is ordered or any labor is billed. An estimate reflects what was found at the time of diagnosis. If dismantling reveals a second fault behind the first, work stops and you get a revised number before anything else happens. Silence is never taken as authorisation.

Estimates hold for thirty days. After that, part prices and availability may have moved and we will re-quote rather than absorb the difference or pass on a surprise.

Access and site conditions

Someone eighteen or older must be present for the visit. We need clear access to the front of the cabinet and to the upper grille, and to the water shut-off and the circuit that feeds the appliance where those are relevant.

Built-in refrigeration is heavy and it sits in joinery that was often built around it. Where a cabinet must be pulled from its opening, we do it carefully, but pre-existing conditions — unsecured flooring, loose trim, plumbing that has corroded in place, an opening that was never squared — are not damage we caused and are not ours to make good.

Parts

Genuine OEM parts sourced through the manufacturer supply chain. Special-order parts are non-returnable once fitted. Where a part is on back-order we pass on the date we were given and update you when it changes.

We do not fit customer-supplied parts. We cannot warrant a component we did not source, and a repair we cannot stand behind is not a service we offer.

Cancellation

Cancel or reschedule with reasonable notice and there is no charge. If we arrive at the agreed window and cannot get access to the appliance, the diagnostic fee is due — the truck, the technician and the slot were all spent.

Payment

Payment is due on completion of the work. The invoice date starts both warranty clocks, so keep it: 90 days on labor, 365 days on parts. The detail is on the warranty sheet.

Limits

Our liability for any claim arising from a service call is limited to the amount you paid us for that call. We are not liable for spoiled food, drink or wine, for consequential loss, or for the condition of an appliance we were not asked to work on. Contents are an insurance matter, not a repair matter.

Nothing in this sheet limits any right you hold under Florida law. Where a term here conflicts with a statutory right, the statute prevails and the rest of the sheet still stands.

Using this website

The repair and neighborhood sheets on this site describe what we find in the field. They are written to be useful, not to be a service manual, and following one is not a substitute for a diagnosis. Refrigeration carries mains voltage and a sealed refrigerant circuit; work on the sealed system requires EPA Section 608 certification, which our technicians hold.

Text and drawings on this site are ours. Brand names and model numbers belong to their owners and appear here only to identify the appliances we service. Nothing on the site is an offer of a manufacturer's warranty or a manufacturer's service.

Changes and questions

This sheet is dated 2026-08-15 and applies to work booked from that date. Our privacy practice is on the privacy sheet, and common questions are answered on the questions sheet. Anything else, call +1 (904) 977-8701 and ask.
